Carbon services and greenhouse gas emissions

We are working to enhance sustainability through carbon management.

Carbon management services

Within the framework of Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working to enhance sustainability through carbon management, by reducing carbon emissions, supporting renewable energy, and diversifying the economy, which contributes to building a prosperous and sustainable economic future while reducing dependence on oil.

Our commitment

As a national company specializing in carbon accounting, we pledge to harness our expertise to support the commitment of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may God protect him, to reduce carbon emissions in the Kingdom by 50% by 2030, by applying the highest international standards in accordance with the ISO methodology, and assisting government agencies and private sectors in achieving their strategic carbon targets.

What cannot be measured cannot be managed.

In line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to reduce emissions by 278 million tons annually, Optimal Entity Company has begun its carbon footprint calculation services to work towards achieving carbon neutrality and to help entities obtain a plan to reduce carbon emissions.

The services of Alkayan Alamthal Carbon Company

The AlKayan AlAmthal team assists entities in contributing to the Kingdom’s Vision 2060 for net-zero carbon neutrality through:

Carbon footprint of entities

A carbon footprint compliance certificate is awarded to facilities when their carbon emissions are calculated, documenting the total percentage of emissions and confirming the facility’s commitment to taking the first step towards reducing environmental impact and contributing to achieving carbon neutrality and sustainable climate change.
A certificate of compliance is obtained for the annual reduction in the carbon footprint. It shows the percentage reduction the organization has achieved annually compared to the previous year and certifies the organization’s commitment to reducing its annual carbon emissions.
Carbon neutrality certification is obtained when a facility achieves carbon neutrality by balancing carbon emissions with the maximum possible reduction in carbon emissions and offsetting the remaining emissions through support for environmental projects.

Product carbon footprint

The calculation of carbon emissions includes all stages of the product lifecycle, from raw material extraction and manufacturing to power generation, transportation and distribution, as higher emissions are associated with increased use of manufactured materials, making their reduction essential to limiting the environmental impact.

Why calculate a product's carbon footprint?

It enables the consumer to understand the environmental impact of a product through details of emissions from raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, storage, use, and disposal, which helps in choosing the most suitable product, improving design, increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and minimizing risks.

Product Carbon Footprint Calculation Method

Types of product carbon footprint:

From raw materials to their transformation into waste

It measures total greenhouse gas emissions throughout the product lifecycle, from raw material extraction to final disposal.

From raw materials to finished product

It measures emissions resulting from the extraction of raw materials through the manufacturing of the product and its arrival at the factory gate.

Carbon footprint of services

The carbon footprint of services is linked to customers, giving them the right to know the emissions resulting from their use, and obligating the operator to provide this information to involve them in global responsibility towards climate change.

Some types of services for which a carbon footprint can be calculated:

Strategy for achieving carbon neutrality

Mechanism for achieving carbon neutrality

Strategy to achieve carbon neutrality and reduce emissions

Optimal Entity Company offers a service for building and implementing strategies to reduce carbon emissions, with a commitment to comprehensive steps and principles that suit the needs of each organization.
