EDGE® Certification Services

EDGE Certification is a green building certification program focused on making buildings more resource-efficient. Developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it is designed to help developers and builders identify the most cost-effective strategies for reducing energy, water, and carbon embodied in materials.

EDGE enables developers, building owners, and investors to quickly examine the environmental and economic impacts of every design decision.

EDGE provides an easy-to-use interface to meteorological data, usage patterns, and technology in over 140 countries. The tool enables examining the environmental and economic impacts of building designs, determining energy and water efficiency, and helping to calculate the operating costs of efficiency-related design improvements.

EDGE Green Building Certification makes it easy to create resource-efficient structures in a simple, smart, and cost-effective way.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) developed the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency (EDGE) program. It enables real estate developers to construct resource-efficient buildings quickly, simply, and economically. It is the latest generation of environmental building certification standards and combines a design tool to demonstrate the financial case for green building construction.
